HEALTH CARE PORTFOLIO
Cesar E. Chavez Family Medical Center
186 N. Hurt Street
Center, CO 81125
Summary:
This Family Medical Center was designed for primary care physicians and
physician's assistants and is part of the Valley-Wide Health Systems
network of community clinics. The facility is approximately 10,000
sq. ft. and was managed & built by Colorado Construction.
The design
includes a main entrance with spacious reception areas with plentiful
seating and an attractive color scheme. The clinic has wheelchair
access, ten examination rooms, one treatment room, six administration
offices, a laboratory, medical records storage, and more.
The exterior
of the facility is stucco and styled with a definite Spanish
influence. A Butler Steel building with metal stud framing was used
to keep costs to a minimum. The clinic is the only medical facility
in the
area. It is frequently described as the "nicest building in town".
Private physicians and clinic administrators who want to build rural
health centers in Colorado have toured the building to see a great
example of how to build for functionality and usability, while achieving
an inviting
and calming atmosphere for their patients.
